I didn’t want to rant in this blog, but as this a technical issue, I’ll do it anyway. I’m not a software developer, I don’t know anything about UI design and I also don’t do software QS. But I can come up with several methods to enter a birthrate in a mobile app.

  • A date field where you can enter dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy (depending on where in the world you are).
  • Some dropdown field where you can scroll down and find the correct values

What I would never have come up with would be a calendar. Starting on the current date. You’ll have to swipe to your birthday. On a monthly basis. So more than 600 swipes for me.
